Would you like to go on a long drive to Thailand? Favorite part of 2015 has to be the fact that there are so many long weekends this year, owing to the festive calendar. Thanks to the opening of AH1 we can have a super holiday bonanza.

Asian Highway 1 (AH1) is the longest route of the Asian Highway Network, running 20,557 kilometers (12,774 mi) from Tokyo, Japan via Korea, China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran to the border between Turkey and Bulgaria west of Istanbul where it joins end-on with European route E80.

India, Myanmar and Thailand has been put into service, which means that the India-Myanmar-Thailand (IMT) road corridor is technically operational and you should soon be able to drive on it. If you did decide to take the road trip, it would take 14 days to cover the 4,500 km once-in-a-life drive.
